Geography & Habitat
The elevation of the ranch is from 7050’ at the entrance gate at the County road in the northeast corner to 7500’ at the far southwest corner, about 1.5 miles away.
The ranch is about 1.5 miles long running north and south and 1 mile wide running east to west.
Of the 520 acres, about 150 acres are open, gentle slope pasture and about 370 acres are ridges and valleys with trees and mixed vegetation.

This photo is part of the 50 acre Front Pasture near the entrance of the ranch. It is an excellent location for a lodge or homesite. There is electricity, a rocked road and available water at this location.
Lower Elevation Areas
Of the 520 acres, approximately 150 acres of the ranch consist of open, grassy, gentle slope pasture. There are two pastures of 100 acres and 50 acres each. The overall 150 acres of pasture have vegetation of mostly mixed natural grasses.

This view is from inside the front gate looking west at part of the 50 acre Front Pasture. You can see part of Deer Creek near the left center of the photo.
The 50 acre Front Pasture starts about 100 yards from the property entrance. This Front Pasture is one of the prime locations on the ranch for a home site, lodge or cabin. It has several acres that are open and nearly level or gentle slope for building sites. Deer Creek runs through the east and north ends of the pasture. This Front Pasture has a spring, a pond, a spring/well, good views, electricity and is near the entrance to the maintained County Road.

Western portion of 100 Acre Pasture
The largest pasture area of about 100 acres is located in the central northeastern section of the ranch starting about ¾ mile from the front gate. This 100 Acre Pasture has 3 drainages and the 4 largest ponds on the ranch.
All 5 of the ponds are located in the 150 acre lower pasture areas on the east and north portions of the ranch.

Natural summer vegetation in the lower pastures, which is excellent feed for livestock, elk and deer.

Middle and Higher Elevations
The middle and higher elevations of the ranch consist of approximately 370 acres of ridges, valleys and draws. The valleys, ridges and draws have natural grasses mixed with oak trees, oak brush, sage brush, quaking aspen, service berry and other vegetation.
The far ridge on the left side in the background of the above photo is on the White River National Forest. The Forest is about 1.5 miles southeast of the ranch. Note the elk migration trails in the foreground of the photo above.
The middle and higher elevations are where all the elevated hunting blinds are located.
There is a good dirt road system around the entire perimeter of the ranch.
Animal Species
There are a variety of animals and birds that live on and seasonally occupy the ranch.
Rocky mountain elk and mule deer are found on the ranch from about April through November, depending upon the weather and migration patterns. Its common for many elk to be on the ranch in the mid to late spring and again in the autumn to early winter. Lots of mule deer are often on the ranch in the spring through to mid fall. Snowshoe rabbits and sharptail grouse are resident year-round. Occasionally pronghorn antelope are seen on the ranch as well as coyotes, bears, mountain lions, porcupines, chipmunks and other animals. Ducks, particularly mallards, can be found in the ponds in the 3 seasons except winter. Magpies, crows, turkeys, various raptors and small birds also frequent the ranch.
