Deer Creek in August, 2008. Deer Creek runs thru the northernmost part of the ranch near the front gate. It runs year-round except that it can freeze up in the winter. It is available for use for livestock or wildlife.
Far East Pond
This spring fed pond holds water year-round and is on the east side of the 265 acre parcel of the ranch.
There are 3 stock ponds on the ranch which can be used for livestock or wildlife. They hold water year-round but usually freeze over in the winter.
There is 1 spring and 1 spring/well, both of which are in favorable, easy-to-reach locations.
Potable water can be obtained by drilling a well or possibly by improving the spring or the spring/well. The spring runs most of the year. The water level for the spring/well is about 5’ below the surface in the summer and fall. Water is currently pumped from the spring/well for use during the fall hunting seasons.
The water from the spring and spring/well have not been tested.
Water rights for the springs and ponds are in process with the State of Colorado.
